Oh, how I have had enough of the rain. After the record rainfall in Germany I decided to simply refuse any more biking in the rain. So when the rain would not stop on Thursday, I figured it would be simple: I will take the train. In my dripping rain suit I arrived at the train station in Blois. There was a sign on the door reading 'Because of socio-economic reasons there will be no train service'. Huh? It took me a few seconds to realize what this was. A strike! So off I went in the nonstop downpour...
After a while I saw a sign 'Cafe Pause. Ouvert a Tous.' A most charming barn converted to a self-service coffee break station became my dry haven for hours. I drank hot tea, made friends with John and Beth from England, figured out the toilet system, secretly tapped the electricity to charge my phone and ate more than my share of chocolate chip cookies.
Heidi leuk allemaal die koffiekannen
