THE POP INN

Pop up store, pop up restaurant, pop up performance space, pop up art gallery. Between Seattle and Amsterdam there are a few. But a pop up hostel, I had never seen one of those... until Vienna. Cool idea!

It started as a graduation project of an architect student and ever since the project has grown into a bigger scale endeavor. Instead of only the hostel apartment the entire multi-story building is now also being used for artist studios, for parties and for performance art.

I hung out in Bastian's space while he was posing for a bigger-than-life portrait in his own designed boudoir. The 2 adjoining bedrooms lovingly, wackily and creatively decorated: one the Sisi room, the other the Franz Joseph room.

Great place to stay with tons of fun people to meet: the non-stuffy side of grand dame Vienna!

PS. Sorry, as usual Blogger randomly orders the photos that I upload. The black and white duvets on green beer crate beds and red couch are the hostel and I think Sisi and FJ's rooms are obvious!

  1. Unbelievable! You must have a whole list of adjectives for the places you stay!
